Uttlesford District Council are the local authority responsible for deciding planning applications.
The majority of applications are decided by Planning Officers in line with the Uttlesford Local Plan which sets out the Council's planning policies. Significant planning applications are considered by Uttlesford Planning Committee which is made up of elected District Councillors. Parish Councils are important statutory consultees and can provide local information on the impact of developments.
