Great Canfield Parish Council is committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of anyone using this website and the confidentiality of any personal information that you provide to us.
The Parish Council is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other legislation relating to personal data and rights, such as the Human Rights Act.
You can visit our website without telling us who you are and without revealing information about yourself. STANDING ORDERS - GCPC Standing Orders
Standing Orders are the rule book for the routine conduct of Parish Council business and are based on the statutory procedures laid out in the Local Government Act 1972, Schedule 12, paragraph 42.
Great Canfield Parish Council use the standard template drawn up by the National Association of Councils tailored, where appropriate to our particular circumstances. Amended orders adopted at the meeting on 11th June 2018 and confirmed valid at April 2024.
FINANCIAL REGULATIONS - GCPC Financial Regulations
Financial Regulations govern the conduct of financial management by the Parish Council, amended orders adopted at the meeting on 14th October 2019 and were updated in April 2024 to reflect the use of electronic banking.
VILLAGE HALL - Terms of Reference
On 1 November 2020, the Parish Council took on a 7 year lease for the village hall. A village hall committee manages the hall on a day to day basis and operates as a committee of the parish council as per the terms of reference
GRANTS POLICY - GCPC Grants Policy
Adopted on 14 March 2022 and confirmed valid at April 2024, this policy sets out the process for applying for grants from the parish council and eligibility. Grants are available which benefit the residents of Great Canfield.
COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE - Policy
Great Canfield Parish Council has adopted a formal complaints procedure for complaints about the administration or procedures of the Parish Council. This policy was reviewed and remains valid at April 2024.
DOCUMENT RETENTION - Policy
A policy approved in April 2024 which sets out all records created, received or maintained by the Parish Council in the course of carrying out its functions, and the time period for which important documents are retained.
RESERVES POLICY - Policy
Great Canfield parish council is required to maintain adequate Financial Reserves to meet its needs. The purpose of this policy which was approved in April 2024 is to set out the different type of reserves, and how the Council will determine and review the level of our Reserves.
