Minerals and Waste local plan Essex / Crumps Farm

Picture
Essex County Council is the lead authority for Minerals and Waste, and consults and publishes local plans for both.
Crumps Farm is a minerals extraction site in Little Canfield and close to the boundary with Great Canfield. The site has limited permission for waste disposal. It is currently (year 2024) subject to investigation following the illegal dumping of waste.

The Minerals Local Plan includes extensions to the Crumps Farm site, these extensions have to date not been developed., see site 1, 2 and 3 in map above. A revised plan is currently being reviewed (consultation closed in April 2024) which continues to include the undeveloped sites, the parish council has objected to their inclusion given the issues at Crumps Farm. It can be viewed at this link, www.essex.gov.uk/replacement-essex-minerals-local-plan-review-2025-2040

The Waste Local Plan was approved in 2017. It includes the sites identified in the Minerals Local Plan, site 2 is identified for the disposal of hazardous waste. The Waste Plan can be viewed at this link, www.essex.gov.uk/sites/default/files/migration_data/files/assets.ctfassets.net/knkzaf64jx5x/5MMZ5nNFmOClpF56igb0Jc/e6f7ab4cba4ed1198c67b87be7b375e7/waste-local-plan-2017-compressed.pdf
