A Design Statement is intended to give a detailed description of the existing character and features of the village and its surroundings; to set out what we value about the parish, its landscape and its buildings; what features we want to conserve and protect; and how we would like to see it evolve. It must reflect the views of everyone in the parish. The Design Statement then acts as an advisory document for planning authorities, designers and developers and is formally adopted as Council Approved Guidance as part of the planning process.
It's our chance to influence the decision makers and help shape the future of our village.
