GREAT CANFIELD BRIDGE CLUB

The Great Canfield Bridge Club was inaugurated in March 2006, has now some 16 regular members, but would very much like to increase membership.

The objectives of the club are to meet in pleasant surroundings, with convivial company, where all share a common interest in a friendly game of bridge, and where there are no winners or losers - a wonderful opportunity to stir “the little grey cells” on a cold Winter’s evening. The members are of mixed ability - from the experienced “professionals”, to some who have played in the past but who have become a little “rusty”, and to those who were complete beginners, but who are now able competitors. If you have no previous experience of the game of Bridge, we can show you how to play and hopefully enjoy the cut and thrust of the game. For the more experienced we hope we can offer a stimulating challenge. Above all, the essence of the Great Canfield Bridge Club is to look upon the game of Bridge as pure enjoyment in a friendly social setting. We take the view that a glass of wine is an essential accompaniment to the cards, and that the camaraderie is the most important objective.

Whatever your skill level, therefore, and if Bridge is a game you enjoy, or would like to learn to play, then why not come and join us. The Bridge Club meets in the Great Canfield Village Hall, in Marsh Lane, on alternate Thursdays of each month. First deal at 7.30 pm prompt, and we usually finish before 10.00 pm.
